5 THINGS WE GET ASKED ABOUT OUR BTR SERVICE

AGC BTR ANSWERS SOME OF THEIR MOST ASKED QUESTIONS

How can you improve
the developers ESG agenda with furnishing and design?

We are devoted to showing investors, developers, and financial institutions how design can be sustainable, working towards our B Corp certification. Our team is working hard to deliver a more future-focused approach to our BTR schemes and make them built to last a lifetime. Furthermore, within our designs, we are opting to use local suppliers where possible, and our wooden furnishings are harvested in compliance with rules and regulations to protect our natural resources.

Sustainability measures have already seen us achieve our ISO14001 Environmental accreditation, and we are committed to obtaining our B Corp certification. In addition, we are proud to partner with Walpole and its members to work towards a shared ambition of creating a more sustainable industry for the top British Luxury Brands.— Quote Source

How do you consider what is important to the residents in terms of design?

This is definitely one of the most important factors when designing a new scheme. We devote our time to researching the local area and target demographic for each project. We explore every aspect of the resident’s lifestyle by putting ourselves in their shoes, allowing us to tailor our designs to each development, client and location.

You can head to our Instagram where we are often posting behind the scenes of our teams exploring the local area! We recently headed over to North Acton ahead of our project in collaboration with City & Docklands.

Where are you able to source most of your furniture from?

Here at AGC BTR, we love visiting our manufacturers and seeing the products being made. We take the time to follow the journey of a product being handcrafted by our talented local UK suppliers from concept to completion.

The craftspeople bringing our furniture to life have over 100 years of combined experience behind them, meaning we select the most skilled master upholsterers to create furniture for every one of our projects.

HAVE YOU SEEN A SHIFT IN DESIGN OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS?

Yes!

The biggest shift we have seen is what tenants are searching for the most in a new home. In our Vertus 8 Water Street project we were installing in the height of the pandemic, so we had to completely adapt the communal areas to be fully flexible for those working from home. We have definitely seen a big shift more recently in tenants looking for more health and well-being amenities such as, gyms, open space, local parks and also a place for their four-legged friends!

Do we need to place importance on window dressings?

This is a big yes.

Tenants moving into a Build to Rent scheme don’t want to be faffing with window treatments. They want to move into a place that is ready to live in, and getting the style of curtains right can have a hugely positive impact on the tenants first impressions. Luckily, we have our in-house Window Treatment service, SWAG, that can help you. Check out our other additional services, to really enhance your development.
