With a more flexible, remote working culture now here to stay, many residents are finding that having a desk in their home is just not enough.
Many residents want a change of scenery if they’re working from home often, so having the opportunity to work in the same building but within a different environment is hugely beneficial. Co-working spaces within residential buildings are becoming increasingly in demand. Designers creating amenity spaces are now more flexible in their approach, with these shared areas becoming more fluid to adapt to changing resident requirements. Allowing for a switch in day and night use is also an easy way of increasing the work from home space for residents. A daytime office space that becomes an area to drink, eat and socialise in the evening means that tenants have everything they need.

“In February 2022, the most common hybrid working pattern that workers planned to use was working mostly from home, and sometimes from their usual place of work. 42% reported this, which is an increase from 30% in April 2021. Since then, the proportion of hybrid workers has risen from 13% in early February 2022 to 24% in May 2022.”
